Guardians of the Galaxy Movie

Marvel is set to bring yet another of its properties to the big screen: they have indeed announced a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. For those who haven't heard about the comic book, the guardians are a team of interstellar heroes that are proactive in protecting the galaxy, rather than reacting to crises as they happen: basically you may consider them as Marvel's equivalent to the Green Lantern Corps from the DC universe. Marvel confirmed the film is in development during the 2012 Comic Con. They have already set a release date: August 1, 2014.

A first logo and a concept art for the film have been revealed:

Based on the comic book

Plot:
"The film will depict the adventures of the spacegoing Guardians of the Galaxy including Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon."

Well, let's hope they will stick to the the concept art because it looks way better!
